Already dealing with a sore ankle, Pierce bruised his thigh on Thursday night against the Blazers. He left the game early and did not return, which naturally would make him a game-time decision the following night. I think it's worth following the updates, especially considering that with the Celtics playing such great basketball they have little need to force Pierce to play unless he's 100 percent.
The other major injury concern on Friday belongs to Derrick Rose and his now famous ulcers. Rose blamed his "injury" on diet and vowed to right his food ship. He also happens to have a sore back, which had been bothering him for some time now.
Fortunately for his owners, we received some good news on Friday as Rose was able to partake in the team's shootaround. Seems like he's going to give it a go tonight, though I would still remain cautious. Given that he hadn't eaten in days, I just wonder if he has 30-plus minutes worth of energy in him. Proceed with caution.
