All the debate over whether Ryan Evans' erstwhile game-tying three should have counted has overshadowed one other significant facet of Tuesday night's 63-60 Michigan State win over Wisconsin.
The game featured one of the slickest moves to the basket of the season.
Michigan State guard Keith Appling blew by Evans late in the second half with a move that was even filthier than the lightning-quick crossover of Duke freshman Austin Rivers or the ankle-breaking jab steps of Maryland sophomore Terrell Stoglin. Appling got Evans on his heels just inside the top of the key, faked with his off-hand as though he was going to crossover and then used an inside-out dribble to drive by the flat-footed Wisconsin forward for an easy finger roll layup.
The jaw-dropping move from Appling was the highlight of a terrific performance from the sophomore point guard. He scored 16 points, ran the pick and roll with Drawmond Green flawlessly and helped carry Michigan State to its first victory at the Kohl Center in its last nine tries.
(Thanks, @PCoughter)
