Early Fantasy Hoops ADP Trend Report

We're nearly a month away from the start of the NBA season, and since your fantasy football team is already 0-3 on the season it's time to start focusing on fantasy basketball. Just this week friend of the fantasy FanHouse hoops team, Yahoo!'s Matt Buser, dissected the early Yahoo! ADP (average draft position) reports and gave his analysis on each round. He did a rather brilliant job, but since I'm leasing out this space I figured I might as well add a few thoughts of my own.

The first round has no surprises at all. Picks No. 1-10 should all fall within the top 10 picks of your draft, with one exception. Dwight Howard, whose ADP is 13.4, would be a top 4 pick in head-to-head formats. No exceptions. The other first rounder who fantasy owners are starting to waiver on is Stephen Curry (7.4). With Don Nelson now out in Golden State, there seems to be a fear that the Warriors offense will be more structured, thus limiting the teams possessions and Pace. Fair enough. So if you want to take Kobe Bryant (7.0) or Deron Williams (9.5) ahead of Curry, by all means. But I wouldn't slide him out of the first round. There are few players in this league who are talented enough to average 20 points, six assists, four rebounds, 2.5 threes, two steals, and shoot 90 percent from the line.
