Quarterbacks
• We won't have resolution to the Brett Favre situation until the middle of Sunday; he's a game-time decision for the Patriots and you can make a case that a healthy Tarvaris Jackson is better for the Vikings than a dinged-up Favre. And even if Favre does start this game, we can't be confident that he'll finish.
• Carson Palmer (hip) had a full session Friday and is set to start against Miami.
• Max Hall (post-concussion) took all the reps the last two days and will start against Tampa.
• Vince Young (knee) had a full day Friday and is expected to start at San Diego.
• Jason Campbell is confirmed to start for the Raiders against Seattle. Bruce Gradkowski isn't ready.
• Matthew Stafford isn't even listed on the injury report, so all looks well for him to start against Washington's leaky secondary.
• Donovan McNabb (hamstring) took the full reps Friday and is set to play at Detroit.
Running Backs
• Beanie Wells is finally installed as the Arizona starter and looks like a strong play against Tampa Bay. Tim Hightower's had a fumbling problem this year.
• DeAngelo Williams (foot) is expected to miss this week's game at St. Louis; he's officially listed as doubtful. Jonathan Stewart looks like a strong play, having the backfield to himself.
• Joseph Addai (shoulder) didn't practice Thursday or Friday and doesn't look likely to play Monday at Houston. Donald Brown (hamstring) did take some reps Friday, but he's no sure thing to play. If you have to take any Colts running back this week, Mike Hart looks like the safest option.
• Reggie Bush (knee) and Pierre Thomas (ankle) have both been scratched for Week 8
• Jahvid Best (toe) is listed as probable and he's had two weeks to rest up. Use him against Washington.
• Knowshon Moreno was dealing with a tweaked hamstring earlier in the week, but he's not on the injury report now, so we'll worry about something else. He's a reasonable play against the Niners.
• Fred Taylor (toe) has been ruled out for another week.
Wide Receivers
• Dez Bryant (ankle) was active the last two days and is considered probable for Sunday's match with the Giants. Technically a non-starter, Bryant might have a familiarity edge with Jon Kitna that Miles Austin and Roy Williams do not.
• The Titans aren't going to discipline Kenny Britt for last week's bar incident - the brief benching in Week 7 will be the extent of it. Go ahead and use Britt at San Diego.
• The Colts limited Reggie Wayne (hamstring) on Thursday and Friday but he's expected to do his normal thing on Monday against Houston. Things look good for Pierre Garcon (hamstring) and Anthony Gonzalez (ankle); they both had full practices Friday
• Louis Murphy (chest) has been ruled out for Week 8, which means you should stay away from all of the Oakland wideouts.
• Buster Davis (ribs) had a limited session Friday and isn't a safe play in Week 8. And forget Malcom Floyd (hamstring) and Legedu Naanee (hamstring); they're both listed as doubtful.
• Donald Driver (quad) is listed as probable but he's certainly not 100 percent. I'd steer away from him against the Jets.
• Deion Branch (hamstring) had a limited practice week and is very questionable for Sunday's late start against Minnesota. I'd look for another option.
• Dexter McCluster has a high-ankle sprain and is no sure thing to play against the Bills; play it safe and use someone else
• Poor Danario Alexander (knee) can't catch a break; he had another knee surgery and will miss several weeks. He was constantly hurt at Missouri.
• Early Doucet (questionable) did some things at the Friday workout and is expected to play.
• Terrell Owens (hand) had a good session Friday and will play against Miami.
Tight Ends
• Antonio Gates (toe) was back at practice Friday and although he's listed as questionable, he's expected to play against Tennessee
• Zach Miller (foot) is listed as questionable and missed some of Friday's reps, but the Raiders haven't given any indication that he's in serious jeopardy here. He should go against Seattle
• The Redskins list Chris Cooley (foot) as questionable, but that's just Shanahan being Shanahan.Cooley didn't miss any first-team snaps this week and looks like a good play at Detroit
• Vernon Davis (ankle) did some work Friday after missing the two previous days. He's listed as questionable.
• The Texans kept Owen Daniels (knee) out of some of Friday's practice. I still like him against the Colts on Monday night, but let's see if he's able to do something Saturday.
