Gallinari, who is averaging 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.8 threes and 87.9 percent shooting from the free-throw line, has struggled to really build off of his breakout sophomore campaign. He's shooting just 41.6 percent from the floor, a career low.
Right now it seems as if the Knicks are going to go heavy on defense, starting Ronny Turiaf alongside Amar'e Stoudemire. Turiaf is serviceable for rebounds and blocks, but not much else.
On Sunday against the Pacers Turiaf recorded six blocks and 10 rebounds. I expect him to be somewhere around two blocks and eight rebounds with extended playing time.
The other player to look at is Shawne Williams. He's a more traditional 'three' and adds the long-range shooting that the Knicks will miss while Gallo is out. Williams has made 10 3-pointers over his last six games and has blocked six shots in that span. He's more of a deep-league add with help in 3-pointers and the occasional scoring outburst.
