Chauncey Billups (knee), unfortunately, sat on Wednesday night against the Warriors. Of course we all know that the Warriors are among the few "gift" games on the season, which made the injury a tad more biting. In his place, Ty Lawson got the start making him a must-add for those in daily leagues. With the trade deadline looming and the many Denver rumors flying around, I would add that Lawson is worth owning at least until we see what moves, if any, are made in Denver.
Lawson was adequate on Wednesday against the Warriors, posting eight points on 3-of-7 shooting, two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in 35 minutes. With Billups questionable on Thursday night against the Mavs, Lawson should get another chance to show what he can do as a pick-and-plug.
Wednesday night may have been a bit of a downer for Lawson, but I'm not ready to pass on him. I also think that Arron Afflalo should be plugged in against the Mavs. J.R. Smith may have had a highly productive Wednesday (16 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals), but we've all been burned by his inconsistency and know that his value is fleeting.
