Smoke bombs didn't help Liverpool or Sparta Prague score goals

Liverpool and Sparta Prague played a dire 0-0 Europa League match on Thursday that was at its best when fans threw smoke bombs on the pitch and made it so you couldn't see what was going on. Liverpool didn't get off a single shot on target the entire match and after 93 excruciating minutes, even the faceless Soccernet text commentary writer seemed on the verge of suicide.

93' It's all over. Thank goodness.

93' FULL-TIME: Sparta 0-0 Liverpool. We clearly didn't cross our fingers tightly enough for goals and I'm only sorry that we can never get those 93 minutes of our lives back.

So, yeah, after Spurs-Milan on Tuesday and Arsenal-Barcelona on Wednesday, I guess we were due for one of these.
