Midway through the fourth quarter in Miami's loss to the Clippers, karma kicked in. LeBron James drove to the basket and his momentum forced him out of bounds. Seemed harmless enough, until James came up limping with an ankle sprain. Oh snap! After the game James had an X-ray taken on his ankle and it was determined that there was no significant damage done. Right now he is listed as day-to-day, but after the game he did not sound like he was going to play on Thursday night against the Nuggets. LeBron remarked that he wasn't looking to be a "hero" and play in a meaningless regular season game. At this point it's fair to say that he's a game-time decision.
Josh Smith was another superstar who tweaked his ankle on Wednesday night. Smith played through the injury, but struggled with his shot, hitting just 3-of-15 field goal attempts, pulling in nine rebounds and blocking zero shots.
Smith did struggle, but he's "tough as nails," as they say, and shouldn't miss any time. The fact that he tweaked his ankle and still managed to play 41 minutes is a good sign. Let's just hope he starts finding the bottom of the net sometime soon.
