Whenever a player spends a day in the hospital you immediately brace yourself for the worst possible news. In the case of Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, however, it seems as if he was sent to the hospital as a precautionary move.Schaub was hospitalized on Tuesday due to swelling in his knee, but the early reports have him listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets. It's a tough matchup, even when you don't factor in the knee injury, but Schaub still remains as a viable option this week, just not a must-start.
While he's not having a stellar season, failing to match his breakout campaign of 2009-10, his 12 touchdown passes on the season have kept him among the top-half of the quarterbacks in the league. Still, with the injury and the matchup against the Jets defense you need to slot him down a few pegs this week. Quarterbacks like Shaun Hill and Josh Freeman look like better starts to me this week, even if Schaub is close to 100 percent.
