The matches to watch after you realized that William Gallas probably won't be seeing too many thumbs up at the Emirates this weekend. Some other fingers, maybe, but not thumbs.
Saturday
Arsenal v Spurs at Emirates Stadium -- Well, Gallas returns to his former club as the central hate figure of the North London derby. Samir Nasri says he won't shake his hand. Arsenal fans will surely have a word or two for him. But Harry Redknapp doesn't see what all the fuss is about. Naturally.
Birmingham v Chelsea at St. Andrews Stadium -- Alex is delaying his surgery and John Terry could be ready to go by mid-week, so Chelsea's problem in central defense seems much less Apocalyptic than it did a few days ago. Speaking of JT, he has a few things to say. Come on, Chels!!
Manchester United v Wigan at Old Trafford -- Wayne Rooney could return to the pitch for the first time since his contract debacle. If he does, the reception he gets should be interesting. I'm sure Bert Tiddle will be watching, assuming none of his 18 kids distract him.
Villarreal v Valencia at El Madrigal -- third place Villarreal host fourth place Valencia in the battle to see who can get slightly closer to Barca and Real. It doesn't get better than this! ... Until the 29th.
Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu -- With nine wins and two draws, Jose Mourinho has made the best debut ever for a La Liga manager. of course. And that will probably continue. Unless it doesn't.
AC Milan v Fiorentina at the San Siro -- Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he's already feeling tired and worn out. But not tired enough to refrain from talking more smack about Pep Guardiola.
Bayer Leverkusen v Bayern Munich at BayArena -- Franck Ribery is back from injury just in time to visit second place Leverkusen. But, according to Louis van Gaal, he isn't trying at all. I'm guessing that will keep him from featuring in this one.
After the jump, Sunday's matches and our expectedly unexpected video...
Sunday
Fulham v Man City at Craven Cottage -- Mark Hughes thinks he should still be manager of Man City. Hopefully he tries to coach his old team in a desperate and misguided attempt to get that job back. Maybe then Man City will produce something other than a scoreless draw for once!
Colorado v Dallas at BMO Field (MLS Cup final) -- OK, so they're not the two most popular teams in MLS and, as of this writing, ESPN -- the network broadcasting this match -- is still listing it as taking place in Denver and not Toronto, but a champion will still be decided. And that's always fun.
Alright, that'll do it. Enjoy the matches. Simone Perrotta.
