It's never fun to write about an injured first rounder, but that's the case here with Dirk Nowitzki who injured his knee on Monday night after playing just 11 minutes against the Thunder. He did not return to the game and already there is some uncertainty as to how severe the injury actually is. We'll have to continue to monitor his status. If Nowitzki does miss time I guess all you can do is look to add Shawn Marion. After his 20-point, 9-rebound performance on Monday that might not look so bad. But let me be the first to remind you that Marion is not Dirk.
The other big injury on Monday night was to Russell Westbrook, who left late in the fourth quarter after injuring his right shoulder. He too did not return and as with Nowitzki it's too early to tell how severe this injury is. But, as is my duty I suggest you look to add Eric Maynor if Westbrook misses time. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that.
