Fantasy Stream Team: Red Hot

Filed under:

Cleveland starter Fausto Carmona was mediocre in his Stream Team appearance on Sunday, allowing two runs in five innings while failing to secure a win. We're stuck on 69 victories heading into the final week of the season. Wade Davis will get the next crack at 70 when he faces Baltimore on Monday.

Edinson Volquez has posted three straight quality starts in September, allowing four earned runs in 21.2 innings while striking out 23 batters and handing out seven free passes. He looks like a near lock to keep the good times rolling when he faces the Astros at home. In his career, he's 4-0 against Houston in four starts with a 0.98 ERA and 0.90 WHIP. At home this year, Volquez has a 3.27 ERA and 1.27 WHIP along with a 42:16 K:BB ratio.

As I went to pick him up in my league (he was somehow available), my championship match opponent grabbed him about one second before I completed my transaction. Curses. Don't let this happen to you -- grab him immediately for Tuesday's start.
